Update!

Last night I had a liquid dinner comprised mainly of champagne and cognac (OUCH!) at the Bastille Day Ball. What can I say, je suis un petit-peaux française! The Boyfriend came with, along with the rest of my friends. At first I was a bit cranky, considering I had forgotten to eat anything since noon and it was almost 9 PM, but as soon as he medicated me with a nice cold glass of bubbly, I was fine. Yes, the Boyfriend is a good doctor indeed.

We drank, we laughed and we danced. We had so much fun! And he told me I look hot dancing. And if you’ve ever seen me dancing, that is actually a correct statement, but it’s always good to hear. There’s a free get-out-of-jail card for you: a compliment that is actually believable! Also, there was this moment when he left me to go with the boys over to the bar and get some drinks when this other guy (Dutch! Tall! Blond! Tanned!) started to dance right next to me, flirting with me and all and he was about to say something when the Boyfriend arrived and just snatched me away, grabbing me from the waist and started dancing with me. That moment, my friends, was my second favorite of the night. Of course, the first place is coming next.

Around 1 or 2 in the morning we went home (yes, on a Monday night. Yes, I’m paying for it now, especially considering I had my obnoxious friend Insomnia visiting me on Sunday night and only slept for 3 hours), and from the corner of my eye, I saw him grabbing a knife from the kitchen counter to cut off the corny wristband they put on you at these parties. Only he was holding it with the sharp end towards his face. Of course, this is a recipe for disaster: champagne and knifes do not mix! So…he cut himself on the chin. And of course there was a lot of blood because facial cuts are oh-so-dramatic (and to be honest, he was being a bit dramatic as well), so I babied him a little. I was in the process of putting a bandaid over his chin to close the wound and cut the bleeding, when he just looked at me with a funny face and he said something like: “you are so nice to me and patient and perfect and I just love you”.

Let's see what comes out of this...
